  • I don't see anything wrong with that.

      • The last part about not voting for yourself.

As well as the part were you said it's not a matter of sides and it being a matter of people's wellbeing.

        • Doesn't that make you want to vote?!?

I have voting rights both in the US and Brazil (actually, it's a civic duty over here, not just an option!) and I always do so.

That is a great question in and of itself (who do you vote for? Yourself or the less fortunate? That tells you what kind of human being you are, IMHO). Our (other) country has elected our version of Trump recently and I've been disgusted ever since, just as much as with Trump..

          • My only issue with trump is that he hasn't truly done anything to unite the country.

I'm not saying it as he hasn't done anything he has done stuff but he cares more for his image and his base rather then the whole country.

Most would say that's not a bad thing he should represent his base but that's crap he should represent everyone even those who hate him.

He should be more thick skinned and push for unity even if the democrats hate him for it do somethings that the democrats could be accepting of.

I had the same problem with Obama.

I feel that our leaders needs to truly put the people first no liberalism no conservativism.

        • People should vote. At least those who are educated on what each party does what for whom.

You actively get to choose what party you are in (there a lot more than 2) green party gets people into the house and Senate occasionally.

Two parties maximizes the chances that they will try to get the moderates of the other side. There are people who voted for obama and then choosed to vote for trump.

Its needed for each party to try to get as many moderates and independents as possible because their own party votes for them anyway. Trump currently is the best candidate going for moderates.

The left is in a little party civil war because one side wants to go so far radically left its leaving the moderates out of the equation. The moderates on the left realize this and is actively trying to do fire control.

          • I'm aware of that and it bothers me it's clear that nobody will win and we don't have any real leaders democrat or republican that can truly lead and unite people.

I'm still waiting but I won't hold my breath the two party system basically makes sure that infighting continues if America stays on this path it won't end well it won't happen in this life time but everything has a breaking point and when it happens it won't be good.

            • There has been two parties for 200 years. It's been fine. People need to stop huffing and puffing about what people on the internet are spreading. 2 parties tend to be the most moderate then the other parties. Deleting the voting block like other countries just leads to more hardship because one party got 34% of the votes.

              • Moderate?

The republicans are far from moderate and the democrats are getting more radical.

Things change sooner or later and holding on to the same thing over and over again isn't truly helping things.

It's not just the Internet a lot of people in real life are beyond divided it's always liberal vs conservative.

Add to that and out presidents never try to push for true unity all they care about is making their bases happy which ropes the wound apart even wider.

It's tribal and the other side takes joy in the fact that the other side loses every time a the leaders don't care hell trump has made it a art form to do and I'm positive in the future democrat and republican presidents will copy that

It's insane how people are fine with that and only makes me want a one party system even more to end the chaos.
