True strength, and does age matter?

  • Hmmmm. If the 12 year old kid had discovered rugby instead of football, perhaps his strength would be more convincing to me.

    Unless the couch potato did some serious artery clogging damage in his couch prime days, I am not so sure there would be much of a difference when it comes to brute strength. Hell, you even said they bench press the same amount so I am not really sure where you are going with this. I am assuming you mean who is generally better than the other.

    Human bodies are pretty bad ass. The only remarkable one-up the twelve year old has on the couch potato is the more time spent committing tasks to muscle memory. I imagine the grown twelve year old to be a precisely oiled and programmed machine, with ten more years of athletic experience on the potato. But as for strength? I do not believe there is much of a difference
