Too sarcastic?

This might be difficult to explain through the Internet, but here it goes.

I am known as a quiet and shy girl. My favorite type of humor is irony/sarcasm. However.

In some situations, I will find myself making what I consider "jokes", or "pulling ones leg", but a few times, people have interpreted it as me being mad/upset with them, or just mean.

I feel immediately bad about it afterwards, but I don't really know how to feel about it overall. I wish I could find more people that understand my sarcasm sometimes, or I could be my sarcastic-self with.

Generally though, I am known as a very nice girl...so when I am overly sarcastic, people are caught off guard I guess. But is it so bad to be like this? Is my sense of humor just too dark? Is it normal?

I hope you can understand where I am coming from.

    I'm the same way. I do it in such a deadpan way that people take me seriously. It's gotten me into quite some trouble.

    continue with it. humor is very limited anyway. people believe sarcasm is something negative but to me, it's quite funny. i actually think sarcastic people are very creative with their jokes. :D
