  • These people are brainwashed. Ive had people scream at me to wear a mask riding my bike on the other side of the street. I don't even believe it's because they're scared, cause nobodys dumb enough to think you can catch any kind of illness from a bicyclist coming within 15 feet of you. It's almost a programmed reaction at this point.

The entire point of this whole thing is control. At the beginning I didnt really get why people were making a big deal about wearing masks. The longer this goes on, the more I see it as a symbol of "being a good person" (Read: complying with rules that make no sense) The masks literally say on the box that they don't work.

If it wasn't for the masks we wouldn't even remember we were in a "pandemic." But the narrative is that if you see somebody not complying you should shame them and pick fights with them.

Its dumb to wear masks outside. But im not going to yell that at random strangers because its none of my buisiness what they do. People are just finding an excuse to be an asshole and feel self-righteous about it.

    • Right on that it's about being a 'good person'

It's a whole competition of who is the most self satisfied and it's hilarious. We get to see people wearing the face diapers in cars, in parks, and acting scared of each other whilst making sure everyone knows how good they are LMAO

      • Its a whole circlejerk for sure. Saying nothing about if masks do anything or not, what's happening is "Follow government instruction" is being wrapped up as "Show you're a good person" and that's a very dangerous and unsettling parallell to make. Thats the kind of stuff that got China where they are right now.

And people get to go along with it because its an easy way to do absolutely nothing and then pat yourself on the back for being a hero who's saving lives. Anyone Ive talked to who's the kind of person who'd yell at you for not wearing a mask is probably the same person who sits around writing veiled masturbatory posts about themselves on social media.

    • Yep, I've noticed a lot of it is more about virtue signaling and a sense of grandiosity than anything with most people.

      • Haha, people taking selfie pictures in their car wearing a mask. They're not doing it to save lives, they're doing it because its fashionable. Somebody dies every 12 seconds, you think these people ever gave a shit about random dead strangers before the news told them it was the hip thing to do?
