To think i wouldn't be so open minded if i never used drugs?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not sneaking off to the restroom and smoking a crack pipe.

I don't have scabs I pick at, or offer to wash windows for spare change.

I'm not looking out of the blinds, hiding from imaginary people.

I feel like drugs like ecstasy actually made me a more open minded person. When I was younger, with absolutely no reason what so ever, I was against Homosexuality.

I feel like I had a tunnel vision way of thinking. I didn't think outside of the box AT ALL. I've noticed that i've started trying to relate to people emotionally and see why they feel the way they feel. How I would feel and come up with situtions similar that have happened to me so I can relate more with that person. I'm not condoning drug use. I think addiction is for weak minded people, and I think a lot of people aren't strong enough to be able to know when they've had enough.

But I know there are people who feel the same. I just wanna know if it's a majority. Maybe I should avoid admitting how I feel in public.

Some may argue, "well maybe you were just immature and have grown up since the time you first did the drug. Maybe you're misconstruing the development of maturity for a drug induced epiphany."

for those of you who think this I say, well, maybe you're right!

IIN?

Artists (not all of them, but many including prominent ones) have always used drugs or alcohol to alter their mindset; often they call it opening their minds or eyes. It's unfortunate but some folks need that extra push. In my own observation it's mostly extroverts, but that's not a proven theory. So: normal.

Psychoactives change the way you think, they cause you to form different connections and lots of people have said that they're able to think more laterally after smoking weed or tripping acid. It's quite a common side effect.

With MDMA in particular it increases feelings of empathy and connectedness with those around you.

Just remember to use repsonsibly and be safe :)

No you're just happy because it's speed based.

"they're able to think more laterally after smoking weed"

I've been smoking weed for ten years, it doesn't help your cognitive functions at all, there's a reason they call it dope!

Erm? I'm used to heroin being referred to as dope. (Heh, heh... referred, reefered... I need to sleep man) And I never said it improves cognitive functions, just that it's an alteration to your standard brain chemistry which causes synapses to connect in different ways, thus people "think differently" or make different connections than they would in a sober state of mind.

Show me a drug that improves cognitive function and you've probably found a cure for most of the world's problems, eh? XD

        • Dope is also a very common term for weed.

You misspoke. "to think more laterally" IS cognitive.

Weed affecting your cognitive functions to the point you would say your dopey would be your personal experience, I've smoked weed for 7 years while flying through school with good grades and now studying at a university and has definitely helped me to look from many different perspectives

It's about moderation and knowing your limit, weed also affects people differently depending on their brain chemistry.

        • ^^^that's what everyone says about their time smoking dope, it's a fact that weed negatively effects your brain functions, motor skills, sex drive, cognitive thought among other things.

It's not personal experience. Weed is weed, it all does the same shit over time to everyone. You aren't some special new type of human. You just haven't smoked enough yet, or haven't noticed. People who argue with medical science are fucking retarded, you are retarded.

you think you know more than you do; with moderation there is no reason for weed to have such a negative impact on your brain functions, I am surrounded by people who smoke weed as it is the norm, my old man and his brothers have done it for much longer than you and have run a successful business for many years.

its about the person and how they allow the drug to affect them, smoking as a stress reliever will not cause such negative impact.

people who follow everything they are told as fact are sheep snm

I didn't say it did, just that it will over time!
You seem to think that i mean how well you handle smoking it, i don't, i mean the way it effects the body long term. A person is healthier if they don't smoke anything, it's that simple.

Weed is weed, it does the same damage to human bodies, some people are smart enough to realise this and some aren't. It is proven to slowly damage many functions of the human body, i smoke, but i'm not stupid enough to think that breathing smoke intead of just air doesn't do damage. The medical science isn't hard to grasp.

I didn't say it doesn't affect your body and health as like you pointed out any form of smoking does. But anything can become a problem if not moderated correctly, foods can also be harmful, other worse drugs & chances of circumstances ending your life at any point.

It's up to the individual to understand there limits with marijuana intake to the point of it affecting there mental state I never argued about it being healthy for your lungs.

I feel and I'm sure you do to some degree as you wouldn't be smoking it, that life's short, fucked up at times and weed can help your chill about problems, stress of life, work or education. Which allows me (not necessarily everyone) to focus on the solutions rather than problems and gives me many different perspectives on problems as well as arguments.

  • If you need drugs to be open minded and creative, you probably aren't very open minded or creative.

    My brain is my drugs.

    • Well, most all "spiritual healers" from different tribes around the world and throughout history used drugs for spiritual enlightenment. An example, Native American tribes using Peyote.
