you're connecting with... yourself. that may sound strange but you're not ending up high, so you can actually feel your feelings, and it's time alone to contemplate, and stop and THINK. one of the things i have a hard time with when it comes to quitting, is when will i get that time? nobody just goes outside for six minutes to sit with themselves and think, and it's where i really gather my thoughts, concentrate on my "breaths" and get grounded for a few.
plus in AA, who doesn't live for coffee and a smoke?
To me there is something deeply spiritual about smokeing a cigarette
