To love the tv show dexter so much?

I'm now watching season 5 of the show and I just love it. I mean the characters, situations... are so good. And I really don't know if it's normal because the protagonist is kind of a psycho who kills people, but I like him really bad.

I was in love with Dexter too, unitl Debra dies and Dexter leaves Harrison with Hanna and they go to Argentina but Dexter stays and becomes a lumberjack.
