To like the taste of your own blood?

When I was in middle school I used to get hurt a lot, as a result my arms often would bleed, tiny cuts here and there from working with my dad and whatnot. But I got into the habit of "Licking my wounds" I actually kind liked the taste, it was always a semi-sweet flavor. but then It became a habit of picking off the scabs and licking up that blood too.

Ive stopped since then, but I just got a cut today and it reminded me of that, have any of you licked your own wounds? drank your own blood? Picked your scabs?

My blood tasted metallic to me. But now I carry Band-Aids around with me, so I don't lick my wounds, anymore.

  • Licking wounds helps to dull the pain and ease the bleeding. Unless it’s like a massive laceration.

  • It’s not as tasty as other peoples’ blood.

I sometimes lick my wounds when there’s nothing around to stop the bleeding. The saliva seems to dull down the bleeding and probably cleans it to who knows.

Blood coming out from wound is not Healthy . There are many chemical mediators released when an injury occurs inorder to Recover the wound and undergo Healing

Yes but this is a cut. You bleed because there has been an eruption in the layer of the skin and surrounding vessels and your body is bleeding as a result. It's not like your body just decides to create a cut and start expelling toxins.

when my tooth came out there was blood all over my mouth and i wondered when i had stuck a penny in my mouth. instead of licking your wounds wash and suck on a penny. i used to do it all the time when i was little and had a few close calls, but am still alive.

if drinking blood is bad then i don’t want to be good
the only problem now is my compulsion to drink others’ blood
