of the big 3(squats,deadlifts,bench press) the squat is the most important....it works more muscles than any other single exercise and there is simply more muscle to be gained in that area than compaired to your upper body.you should easily be able to squat more than you can bench,but every man seems to be conditioned to think squats are for girls

Depends on body mechanics as a tall man squats are useless to me i can bench far more than i can squat.
