It is considered a derivative of furry fetish. There is nothing wrong with it per say, but it is probably something that you would want to keep to yourself and yourself only. And for the record furry doesn't equal beastiality. The furry fandom is about self dehumanization in an attempt to escape from reality.

Not really, the ponies are intelligent, and with a few exceptions, behave like humans, some even wear clothes!
its like how some in the furry fandom make sexy artwork, except most furry art features "Anthro" creatures where they have an animal face and fur, but a mostly human body otherwise.
of course, some art does have the ponies drawn this way as well. (both safe and NSFW)

well, the show has been around since October of 2010. People have been drawn in cause its surprising well done, especially for a "Girls" cartoon. Most of the fans just enjoy the show and maybe the fan made stuff (non- sexually). Fans, especially guys, tend to go by the term "brony" (shortened from bro-pony) its a small portion of the fans who are turned on by it. those who are turned on by the ponies are known as "cloppers" by the fandom. Its somewhat contriversial though and opinion is widely dividend on whether its ok or not.
personally, it doesnt bother me, whatever floats their boat. It doesn't really surprise me either, especially considering some fans either are/were furries, and there's is a small subset (yiffers) there as well who like the sexy stuff.
