I'm not sure how the Eurovision Song Contest is viewed in the rest of Europe, but here in England, it's seen as a it of a joke. I don't mean that in a bad way. I mean we expect terrible songs, strange outfits, and for England to fare badly.
I think it's a great way for Europe to get together and just have a laugh. In some ways, the worse the song, the better! So I wouldn't stress too much about it. It's no reflection on your country whatsoever. It's just people getting dressed up and acting like idiots - and there's nothing wrong with that, once in a while!
