Infp. Apparently I have a lot of empathy, which I like. I can judge other peoples feelings and make them feel better. A bit rare, though, so hard to find friends like myself.
I haven't looked into this in any detail, but I don't see why only identical personality types should be compatible.
Take the introversion/extroversion element for example. I'm pretty introverted, but my most successful relationships have been with women who are extroverted. They've pulled me out into the world a little, while I allowed them to know there's somebody at home for them, and they could be sure I wasn't out raising hell and chasing other women.
A total party animal and someone who never wants to leave the house and is terrified of meeting new people obviously wouldn't be a good mix, but most people aren't at the extremes of any spectrum, and any successful relationship requires both people to be a little flexible and understanding of the other's needs.
Thoughts on the Myers-Briggs Personality types?
