I fucking Loathe the “forced distressed” furniture. What’s worse it taking actual antiques and then painting them to look more like an antique. Fuck that. It’s not clever and they look tacky as fuck. I can’t wait for that trend to burn.
I hate that as well! I've seen some really nice older wooden furniture that was still in great condition (just "dated") that people painted like that, and it's such a shame since good real wooden furniture in good condition is hard to come by, and a beautiful antique should NOT be cheapened like that! I never got into that "distressed" look, either.
