This girl doesn't like me but i wish we were friends. is this normal?

For a long time I didn't have any good friends and finally I got close with some guys. Senior year hit and some of my guy friends started hanging out with this other girl. They are in a lot of classes with her and spend a lot of time with her outside of school. She's in a few of my classes. I'm always awkward around her but I wish we could be friends and hang out with my other friends together. She doesn't like that I hang out with them. How can I change that?

You seem like a really nice person, someone that she should want to have as a friend. Why don't you invite her for a coffee or something; tell her that you have so many friends in common that you thought the two of you should hang out. If she "rejects" you, then that's her tough luck, but don't let it make you feel down--there are other people out there more deserving of your time.

She sounds like she may be jealous?

I agree with equanimity. You should try to become friends with her. Chances are you will probably share quite a few things in common, and once you both realize that things will probably go a lot smoother. Either that, or an inevitable fight to the death will ensue >:)

She told them that she didn't like me hanging out with them. I've tried to be nice but she's very judgmental and not worth the time.

It might help to try to make friends with her, but sometimes the opposite works. If you ignore her and don't even think about whether or not she matters, you're probably better off anyway.

Why doesn't she like you hanging out with them? How does she show it?

I've felt like you before. I say, try to communicate with her. Smile, and just be nice, which you sound like a VERY nice person so that shouldn' be a problem! Good luck!
