So me getting annoyed by their behaviour first doesn't matter? How is it fair when I expect proper conversation for each sides but getting stucked with the self-absorbed one most of the time?
I cut them off since they never seem to shut up talking about themselves. I don't even have a leeway to talk about mine most of the time and even when I finally have the chance to, they show those obvious disinterest body languages and proceed to cut mine instead. Cutting them off mid way is more like observing how they talk to people at this point.
I'm the youngest of...well, a lot of siblings. I can relate. Trying to get a word in during conversations with some of the siblings is next to impossible. I can be in the middle of a story and then they'll interrupt and start talking over me as if they we'd just been sitting in silence for the last minute
They sure love talking about themselves

In fairness if you’re cutting someone off mid story I can see why they would be annoyed.
