  • I'm just going to ask you two questions. Could it be that you have a skewed perception of how they see you? What can you do to not be 'sometimes incompetent'?

    • I'm not op but I can empathize with them. A lot of my blunders are from years of isolation with cabin fever, as well as not having a proper upbringing. I'm working on things, but I'm still obviously a faux pas to anyone who can have a 5 minute recreational conversation without succumbing to an anxiety attack

      • I hope I didn't come across as unempathetic to OP because that's definitely not what I was going for. I just wanted them to think what could actually be done in their situation like you are doing in yours.

The question about other's perception I find important because it could really be a misconception stemming from the fear of being judged poorly by peers and then actually believing they do, even if they don't.

With the second question I intended to be more practical. If you stop to assess your own performance and figure out where or why you blundered and how this could (sometimes easily) be avoided.

You're a lovely faux pas! Elegantly gauche.
