I'm a linguistics major, speak two languages, read English literature frequently, and typically try to have my grammar at least be acceptable. I'm exactly the type of person you would expect to be a grammar Nazi. However, I honestly couldn't care less if somebody does this. As long as I know what they mean, I don't give one shit if they use the wrong one. I don't understand how anyone can care this much about a common, petty, and understandable mistake.
Of course you don't care about it. Nobody expects a linguist to be a grammar nazi - that's the whole point about being a linguist - there is no right or wrong, just comunication or no communication. If you were a grammatician then you would be a grammar nazi.
