There is nothing that is not normal.

Most people probably think, at sometimes in their lives, that there is something not quite normal about them.

Well, I can, with all honesty, quite categorically state that, whatever it is that you are worried about, whatever freaky or seemingly abnormal thing is happening, whatever thing it is that you think is keeping you apart from the rest of "normal" society, is perfectly normal.

There is, in fact, nothing which is "abnormal", only that which is considered to be abnormal, by virtue of the fact that it might not fit in with some other people's way of thinking.

The one two things you have to consider, the only important things, are, is it hurting anyoe else and, does it feel right to you?

I'm not talking about hurting anyone else's sensibilities or their moral standpoints or such rubbish. I mean actual physical damage to something very real.

If not, and you, inside of you, knows it's ok, then, it's normal.

But, I don't think I'm saying anything here that you, or anyone, couldn't decide for themselves.

I agree with you all now. But ten years ago it would have been nice to know that all those thoughts, secrets, obsessions and generally...puberty were all okay and normal. The only thing that really bothers me on this site is all of those people posting their very cries for help...and all we can say is 'please tell someone face-to-face'.

it's all good. if they need to talk to someone face to face, then that's the next step. But this way they can ask people they don't know very well anonymously and that's a huge help in many situations.

yup agree. people assume what they do is normal, and every1 else go die. they are way too judgmental about stuff. It's your perspective, and your opinion on what's normal and what's not. People have standards and boundaries the don't want to cross. Some people even screw themselves by creating their own taboos.

Eloquently stated. And yet I still find a hard time dealing with people who claim to not bathe.

As I often say when anyone says I'm odd, 'define normal'. 'Abnormal' does not exist only 'uncommon'

You put that very well, thank you.

That saves me from saying that to everyone. Most people on this site have given up on asking whether or not things are normal anyway. It's become more of an advice site or something like that.
