    Although there are slightly more males born; males die-off at a greater rate than females, from a wide variety of causes, in all age groups.

    So overall, there are slightly more females extant, at any given time.

      Actually no , men's scale is much more narrow than women's

        No. You'll have more unique female ancestors than male because considerably more (about 2x) women than men reproduce. Fewer individual men reproducing at all, and many of the men who do/did reproduce do so with multiple different women, in other words.

          Gilligans island theory. Two men and two women on a deserted island. There can only be one alpha male who will fuck and impregnate both woman.

          If both women give birth there will be two females who are now ancestors and only one male.

          While this works in total popultaions when looked at from an indiviual perspective, both offspring have exactly one male and one female ancestor.

          So both of you are somewhat correct. "I" don't have twice as many female ancestors. There are just twice as many female ancestors in the world as a whole.

          The more interesting part of all this for me is, women complain that men are pig cheaters, yet they are the ones who instigate, require and demand this behavior.

            This behavior ties into our very nature, as reproductive success has always been in the realm of the male dominance hierachy. Men have to work hard at being fuckable, women don't—this is primal attraction stuff we can't control.

            For the vast majority of mankind, before the pill was invented, the fate of a woman and her offspring was dependent on the male she had sex with. That selectiveness is why women have such high standards, and the primal desire to pass good genes in their kids means they'd rather join a harem than mate with a loser.
