I always liked the Rotary Dial 1.0 system. It never breaks down or runs out of memory, except yours and the Northern Electric model 500 weighs enough to crush someone's skull if you need to protect yourself from phone theft.
Although it can't access the internet, you can still phone a cab and go to the library.
