Well culturally it makes sense. Hunter gatherer societies males did the dangerous work and females did the tedious work. Skip ahead 12000 years and we are largely doing the same thing because it makes just as much sense as why you would have women picking berries instead of hunting mammoths.
Not saying that women cant have careers. Just saying that while having kids is a big moment for males too you still have to bring back the hunt of the day. It's how human life works.
