The new fleetwood mac?

Not sure how many Mac fans are even here, but if you are one, what’s your stance on the new-ish lineup of Fleetwood Mac?
Personally I will forever side with Mr Buckingham and I don’t like the new sound they have, as I feel like the chemistry between the Rumours lineup is what kept them going, but I’m curious to hear other opinions on this. ❤️

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

I prefer Buckingham Nicks to Fleetwood Mac anyway. Still love Fleetwood Mac, of course, but I think Buckingham Nicks had so much more raw passion. Really felt like they were part of something magical. For me, Buckingham was the magic maker in that duet. So yeah, I guess I'd side with him too. No disrespect to Stevie though, she's still a fantastic artist.

The only Fleetwood Mac I acknowledge is comprised of the two McVie's, Buckingham, Nicks, & Fleetwood.

    • Fair enough. It’s my favourite lineup and I loved them live, however I always have a place in my heart for Bob Welch ;)

  • One thing I absolutely despise is how Fleetwood Mac have taken to covering songs by the bands that the other two were in (don’t know which was which) such as Dont Dream It’s Over by Crowded House & a few Tom Petty songs.
Furthermore, Stevie covering Peter’s blues 🤢 she absolutely destroyed Black Magic Woman.
Don’t get me wrong here, I adore Nicks, but damn. You can’t do a Peter Green song justice unless you are the man himself.

(Lindsey covering Oh Well was awful, I’m not just hating on Stevie here so don’t you rockalittle’s come @ me, but in fairness to him he only did that once, and said he wouldn’t do it again, whereas Stevie has covered a couple of peter’s songs now and each time was bad) sorry. 😂🤷🏻‍♂️

    Did Lindsey leave?

    • He was fired, due to him asking to tour at a later date than the others wanted. However in the time it took them to replace him, like once that was all set to go, they were touring at the time he had asked to go, so he could have done it but by then things were bad between Stevie & him, and she had said if he was asked Back, she would leave, and unfortunately the band did worse that time Stevie left than the time Lindsey left, so he had to go..,

Stevie has fought with Lindsey before. Hope they make up. They have great chemistry.

I hope so too, but if they don’t I understand. The problem is when they get along its fucking amazing and you can’t explain it it’s just like something magic, but when they don’t get on so good, damn... everybody within a 10 mile radius better run 😂

Yeah I haven't bothered listening to whoever the new guy is, but Buckingham is and was such an integral part of that band he is irreplaceable. He is vastly underrated as a guitarist and he sang some of their best songs too. He and nix are just irreplaceable.

    • I wholeheartedly agree, I tried to listen to the new sound, as I am all for the Bob Welch era so it seemed possible that the new Mac could have a cool sound, however it didn’t work for me.
Fleetwood Mac will for most people my age (17) always be Lindsey & Stevie, even if it’s not specifically their band, they’re a unique duo and it’s magic tbh, so it sucks that this has happened and I’m glad I got to see the Buckingham/Nicks lineup live, However that being said, this is good for Lindsey as he’s a creative genius tbh, (look at Tusk) and he has the ability to make use of his creativity and he has the freedom he wants now to do what he wants as he wants, it’s on his terms and it’s what he wants to do, the same goes for Fleetwood Mac, they now no longer have to wait on their guitarist. I don’t like this new lineup at all, I’m very pissed off about it actually but I can see the positives of this... just praying Lindsey comes to Scotland now 😂❤️
