Old school rap was good. All this new shit is dumb asses shouting out about how much better they are. Or how much money they make. Like Nas says. Hip hop is dead.
You can still find quality hip hop being produced underground/independently. Check out cyne if you haven't already; soapbox, haze, 400 years and arrow of god are just a few of many great tracks.
Exactly. It's all about self centered celebs that flaunt there good in the listeners face .. like we care. Well I don't. I really like Kendrick and J Cole. They are really real.
I'm a big fan of indie hip hop duo Atmosphere. Seen them live a few times.
Sean Daley (frontman) writes very introspective lyrics, and Anthony Davis produces some great beats.
When they tour they play with a live backing band.
I do like rap. There are plenty of good rap songs out there, somethat aren't that "deep" but is a fun song and ones that are deep and have a good sound. Sure, there are a lot of bad rap songs out there but you can say that about any genre.
@anonymous...when you talking about kendrick lamar and joe cole you talking real ,many rappers today are boring and they lack good story telling ,like how someone gonna hear p*ssy p*ssy the whole song that's bs
