The desire for children: biology or societal conditioning?

Yes, both are at fault here but which of these is more so the reason for people to have kids?

    Biologically speaking, I should have wanted them, like, 25 years ago. I never did. I see my-selfish-self as child-free rather than child-less.

    Deffinitly biology,but,for example,I'm Romanian and when we were under communists,we were obliged to have a many kids as we could.I personally hate the idea of having kids.
