Firstly, Xbox live was better (and more innovative I suppose) than Playstation network. That's probably because Sony did it for free though, while Xbox required a membership subscription.
Secondly, this is what gamers want, and Sony is listening.
-True consumer ownership.
-We don't want restrictions on used games.
-We don't want a mandatory internet connection to play our games offline because they have to be authenticated on a regular basis.
The $100 Price difference is just a bonus. A big fat Benjamin Franklin of a bonus. I don't know about you, but I like Ben. I'm real good friends with Ben and he stays in MY wallet if at all possible.
Sony is marketing to consumers and developers, and Microsoft is marketing to publishers and corporate types.
I don't foresee Microsoft making a huge comeback from this downfall.
The systems aren't going to be released for months, of course everything is speculative.
It's kind of absurd to call it a "downfall" when all we have are press releases and sales pitches. For all we know, the PS4 could be a piece of crap out of the box.
Right now, the arguments I'm hearing for buying PS4 are:
It doesn't have DRM.
It's $100 cheaper.
It's not Xbox.
The lolz internet jokes about Xbox DRM are cool lolz.
Where are the good exclusive games? Where are the groundbreaking features?
You're forgetting Sony allows indie developers to self-publish, which is obviously not as beneficial to them but they do it to allow the companies to grow at a faster rate due to no big publisher intervention. Good exclusive games? Honestly? I can rifle off a few from the top of my head. Infamous: Second Son, DriveClub, The Order, Killzone: Shadow Fall, Don't Starve...
Hahaha, "groundbreaking features?" So which groundbreaking features does Xbone have that PS4 doesn't, despite the screwed up kinect all-seeing all-hearing shit? You know that Xbone may be illegal in Germany and possibly Australia if they view it as violation of data protection?

Edit: Not to mention - MS live in a giant bubble. They don't realise concerns for less fortunate countries. At Xbone's launch, the servers will only be available to 22 countries.
The consumer's console, PS4!
