  • While that is correct, it is completely unimportant.
    That is also completely unimportant.
There's this thing called "free will," and people use it all the time.
"Thinking ill" is an excessively harsh phrase.
That does not prevent God's word from being important. As Revelation says, things have changed and will continue to change for the worse. The context of Bible verses can be quite important; that verse is referring to the death penalty for adultery, and Jesus is saying that none of the people there have done little enough sin to be able to punish a person of meager sin. I don't agree with murdering homosexuals, so the verse does not relate. People are made in God's image, but, unlike God, people are slaves to sin.

    • I think publicly/vocally criticizing someone is still casting a stone? You know in my mind I always imagine a crowd full of people dropping their rocks and accept whoever it was they were about to stone

      • I don't think we can extrapolate it to mean that, though. The Bible also says, "Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thy heart, but reprove him openly, lest thou incur sin through him." -Leviticus 19:17. To "rebuke openly" can be public/vocal criticism. Also, I don't think the way you're picturing it's correct, either. It's not them suddenly having sympathy for the woman; rather, it's guilt for their own actions, and how they are close enough to adultery that to kill someone for it would be hypocritical.

        • Well I personally think it's hypocritical to condemn someone for a sin when the bible says everyone sins, god can't even be in the same presence as sin which is why people die and remove their earthly, sinful shells to go to heaven

Bible also says to love thy neighbor, also talks about pride

Wouldn't it also be considered playing god to punish people like that? Like that's supposed to be his job, not yours

          • Criticism is not a punishment, neither is not letting someone marry.

            • What if a group came along and said you shouldn't be married?

To a developmentally delayed person, criticism is a punishment

              • Technically, they can get married, though. They just can't marry everyone. The rule applies to everyone. All people are not allowed to marry people of the same gender as themselves. To compare those two is just offensive to developmentally delayed people. Developmentally delayed people do not choose to act developmentally delayed; homosexuals do. Homosexuality may not be a true choice, but acting upon it is a choice.
