    I couldn't investigate it even if I wanted to. See, my attic is through a sealed cutout in the bathroom ceiling. The only way someone could go in is via a very tall ladder or alternatively, it could be achieved with a tall person standing on a step ladder.

    Cause of sound? Wind, squirrels, bees and possibly some water damage.
