That i only have people i actually like as my facebook friends?

I'm not being harsh, but I feel no obligation whatsoever to 'friend' work colleagues, family, or randoms. My rule for accepting a FB pal is..."would I choose to go out for a pint with them on my own?"

Is It Normal?
Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

  • I was thinking the same thing. My ex tried to friend me and we hate each other. People think it's some type of popularity contest to see how many friends you can get. In reality half the people have had less than 5 conversations with the people they're trying to friend. Pathetic really

  • Last count I had less than 80 friends. Some of them I haven't spent long with, for example people I hit it off with when back-packing, some school friends who were just genuinely nice folk, and only work colleagues that I socialise with in real life. But what they all have in common is when I think of them I have a little smile and think "Yeah, you're a good 'un, you are."
They've already seen me drunk, or at my worst and wouldn't bat an eyelid at some of my more deviant behaviour. Friends indeed.

  • This is actually something good. You won't worry about stalkers, or nosy people going on your page, or people stealing your pictures. Good idea.
