You Americans really need to take a good look at your country. Think to yourself. Do all these huge skyscrapers make your country look awesome? Big isn't always beautiful. Some of your cities look downright hideous, like Lincoln, NE. The US is wildly overrated and it's sad how some Americans think that their country is the best, and therefore to go to another country means going to a dump just because it hasn't got skyscrapers or big cars.
Besides, Europe is a wonderful continet rich in culture and history. America's history/culture is very poor. Please, for the love of God, get used to the fact that there are hundreds of other countries that are all great.
Their are better uses for blankets. Using them to make a general statement about something you obviously don't know much about sounds a bit, well, American. I live in stumptown, we pride ourselves in eluding the skyscraper and love our big trees :)
OP- you are just nervous. I'm sure you'd feel the same way if you were moving to Alaska (assuming you don't live there now). But the world is connected, get skype and a web cam to ease the separation.
That I like America this much??
