Wait a day or do it later at night. Don't be too nervous, but definitely give him a call or text, whatever you prefer. Just keep it short and sweet. He gave you his number, so if he didn't want you to call he probably wouldn't have given it to you. Unless he's an ass who gave you a fake number. But thats probably not the case.
