Thanks for your kind and caring response. I think I am most hurt emotionally. I really wish he would have turned out to be the person he initially presented himself as.
I'm staying with family, and I'm very grateful for that, but I don't have a car. It's a little weird, because they are Pentacostal, and you know I'm Roman Catholic, but they're relatively tolerant so I'm grateful for that.
Regarding his family, his mother demanded to see my bruises then shrieked like a harpy, and called me a liar. I was so shocked and disgusted to see that there are people who still think like that! It was only a couple of hours after he attacked me that she went off on me so there probably wouldn't be bruises as bruises take a while to form. I eventually found two small bruises on my upper arms when I finally got to a hotel early the next morning.
I do have an appointment to see about some counseling tomorrow morning at 10:30 am. It's been crazy lately.
At least my Siamese cat has managed to make friends with the border collie who lives here.
