It is normal for a younger girl to like an older guy. However, I would be very concerned about the motive and why a 43yr is interested in someone who is 17. Even though you are mature, once the "excitement" of a new experience goes away for you. There is very little in common. Your parents should be concerned. I would move on if I was you.
