Teacher told my 7-year-old’s class we only have ten years left

She told the class something about how Australia was burning and we’re next. I guess she was referring to climate change, which I don’t think is appropriate for a second grade class, to tell them they’re going to die soon.

That's an awful thing to say to a class of 7 year olds.

It's a plainly wrong and factually incorrect statement.

Perhaps the 7 year old misinterpreted what she was saying.

It's also hyperbolic bullshit if she reckons we only have ten years left. People like that damage the climate change movement, and certainly shouldn't be shaping young minds.

So you're one of those parents who takes at face value everything your lil' darling tells you, and you also believe they're so incredibly brilliant that they comprehend correctly everything an adult ever says to them?

If so, I feel sorry for your kid, but not because of his teacher.

Have you heard the story of the man whose child's teacher put anti-Trump messages in a homework assignment? He sued the school and won. The school then sued the teacher and also won. There are teachers who do this kind of crap.

Fear is thier tool now. How the parties have reversed tactics in twenty years. How is the conservitive party now the one of facts and logic?!

The conservatives have always had fine facts and logic, except for slavery; I'm not defending that.

Slavery was detestable no doubt about it. Though I think it was more of an economic problem with production rather than a cultural one.

          People are just being people.

I think you should write a letter to the superintendent of the school district about her ass.

The teacher should kill herself. That will massively reduce her carbon footprint and buy us all some more time.

With the amount of imported health foods they tend to eat that is a good point.

It isn't against the law to teach the truth, you should thank the teacher for educating your child.

The teacher might have not used the words "you will die" and instead that's just how your child interpreted what they said.

The comments here are hilarious, you would not win a lawsuit.

When I was a kid I was told the world is full of rapists and murderers, was it wrong of my mother to say that? She also told me the world would hit me like a ton of bricks. She was telling the truth.

The world isn't all butterfly's and rainbows, and if you don't wake up sooner to notice that then when you find it out for yourself it might come as more of a shock.

If you could prove this I think you have yourself a winnable legal battle.

That's against the law. You could sue that teacher. You'd probably win, too.
