Superstitious

Im not really too religious but my wife wanted a new pistol called a hellcat. Its a great gun. But I bought her a similar one instead because I think using something with "hellcat" written on it could give you bad luck. Id rather buy a gun named the Holy9 or some shit like that. You wanna trust your life with a hellcat? I want all the good luck I can get on my guns. I would literally sprinkle holy water on them if I had it.

If someone tries to take my life, or my families life, all hell will break loose. I'm not going to pray to an imaginary being with them, and hope I have "Luck". "Good luck" with that logic, I hope you never have to test it. You'll lose every time.

    • You wouldnt want good luck in a shoot out? Or you dont believe that theres something out there that would provide that luck? You may be right. But I still wont chance it. I could use all the luck I can get in a shootout.

You won't get bad luck if you do get a gun.

I don't believe in "Luck". There are people who put in the work, and learn how to properly use firearms in self defense, and other's who just do the bare minimum required to legally own one(Deending on where said person lives). But if you really think that something such as having "Hell" in its name will reduce your "Luck" or is a bad "Omen",then stick to what you believe. At the end of the day, what's written on a firearm isn't going to protect you, nor will it be what causes you to lose a shoot out. What will make the difference, is whether you properly know how to use one, or not. Even a .22 snub nose is very good as a self defense tool, if you know how to use it properly. They are more then capable of stopping an attacker. A well placed shot, or two, makes all the difference. Notice I said capable of stopping an attacker, not killing one(Though will do that as well, but I prefer a little more power). They have the nickname "Shin busters" for a reason. It'll bounce around a bit, wherever you hit someone(the closer you are, the better of course). But the length of a average hallway in a house is close enough. I'm getting off topic though. But the name of the firearm won't change the outcome. Your skill level will change everything.

I never said you didn't. I said that skill level is what will save you, not what's written on the side of a firearm.

Try doing a lot of serious training for various tactical scenarios that often occur in a house...

That works a lot better than luck.

Also, spend a lot of time at the practice range so that you know you can actually hit the target instead of spraying bullets in the general direction.

Superstition should be renamed stupidstition because stupid is exactly what it is. It has no scientific basis whatsoever.

It's true that science can't explain everything, but superstition can't explain anything.

No, it can't. But neither can superstition. At least science is rooted in fact and can be proved.

Just a few cases where science was "proven" but then wrong.

Point taken, but politicians are scaremongers and don't know what they're talking about anyway, especially Britain's Labour politicians.
