In charleston, sc it is illegal to drive a motor vehicle down King Street (a street that is perpetually packed with cars - both moving and parked)
Also, if one of us ladies is driving we are required to have a responsible male walk ahead of the car waving a flag to warn others.
O! I almost forgot! If we are driving a motorized vehicle, we should fire a shot into the air 100 yds before any intersection to warn approaching horses.
But keeping w/ what I think the posters original ? Was...I hate that I can now get pulled over do not wearing myseatbelt when I am alone in the car. Kids, sure. And anytime more than one person is in the car, yea- u can become a projectile in an accident and hurt passengers, but alone?! My risk alone...
I think the seatbelt law is more for insurance reasons. You have to realize that someone has to pay when you get mangled in a wreck, you have the responsibility to keep your risk minimal. An insurance company (or the state) will be paying for your medical care, car insurnce companies might have to pay out based on your injuries, you might become disabled and unable to work which would mean the state and federal gov't might end up paying for you to live for the rest of your life....and so on.
Stupidist Law in your world?
