Oh DARN! I forgot to leave a very long-worded response to the [also] ignorant OP. Be it a 'troll' post or not, it warrants an unbias response:
Strength and independence:
This is not (and never will be) a gender specific issue. Both men and women are strong and even when they feel they are not capable, they truly are; physically and emotionally. Women can lift cars off of their babies and so can men. Adrenaline and the power of using muscles with this spike and pure "will" and torque in one direction (we have 600 muscles. If they all pulled together in one direction, you could lift over 25 tons) makes this possible.
Humans are strong -- but will never.. ever.. be truly and fully "independent". Financially, yes. However, we are all INTERDEPENDENT. We are all born attached to someone; our mothers and fathers. Someone. We always will, too. Humans crave each other, touch, emotion deriving experiences and happiness that we can share with others. One of the biggest parts resulting in true happiness, is knowing your loved ones' are happy and living a fullfiling life. As are you, hopefully.
Interdependence is evident, even here. When one claims this site is "addicting", what they are saying is the result of interdependence. Regardless of even hating/disliking/criticizing/trolling each other, humans fight for recognition and acknowledgment and being "connected". That is truly what this site depicts and displays very blatantly, every day. It is not a blog of one person.. it's Q and A's of numerous strangers. So much dependence on one another.. users cannot refrain from reading and at times engaging in insightful discussions.
Even with lives outside of this site and people in it, you still log in to a website and are dependent on others, to satisfy your innate desire as a human to CONNECT.
Even you OP, if you thought this and let it go to the underbelly of your thoughts, it would not be good enough. You need others, even if it's reaction is potentially negative and opposing.
Strong and independent women? Yeah right...
