Feeling self-conscious seems to be a common human trait, a characteristic that seems to plague some people more than others. As someone who went through a difficult childhood and got bullied to no end over the whole time I was growing up (not a sympathy plee) I know only all too well about feeling super self-conscious as well! But note that it is just a mental outlook that you can turn change if you learn how.
I think deep down 99%% of all humans feel conscious about their bodies/a specific body part, etc. Also you should be aware that stretch marks are very common. I'm not saying they are common on the calves specifically but to be honest I don't scrutinise peoples legs to the point where I see there imperfections, haha. And I doubt other people do too. Just for the record I too have strectch marks which are on both my arms due to putting on muscle too fast for my body. I don't like them either but still do have my arms on display alot because quite frankly, my muscular arms win over my stretch marks (replace a negative quality with a good one).
Saying that, I do apply Aloe Vera gel to them every night. It helps to soften the marks, fade their appearance and speeds up the healing process of turning them from purpley pink (intially) to silvery white (which is alot less noticable). There are also a number of scar and stretch marks creams out there (I don't use them personally). FACT: Nothing will make the stretch marks go away (apart from maybe surgery of course) but you can help their appearance to the point where they're virtually unnoticable. Good luck :)
stretch marks are a turn off?
