I agree, your first attempt is to try the opposite sex, and see what the result is, Try a few, it just might be your trying with the wrong ones, BUT, if you still feel attracted to women and your old enough that you understand what you are doing perhaps if all else isn't working maybe then you need to consider this option.
However, consider that life is not as easy as a TV show for real live LGBT people. Most don't grow up in areas where there are a lot of people who are LGBT and they can still in this time of enlightenment face many social problems.
Remember thinking about and actually making out with girls does cross a line that you might be fine with you will have to decide what your sexuality is but give yourself some time.
