  • Yeah find a pic of someone who looks like you did that helps.

I would guess that you were pretty top heavy muscular wise as most athletes and especially boxers are.

I'm just jealous you can get noticable bigger in the mirror in two weeks natural. I was to the point where it would take months but now that I'm on juice it's easy to tell haha I'm gonna be so yoked by week 12.

    • One thing I always did different then what most body builders do is I work my full body EVERYday. Apparently thats not the right way to do it but thats what I did. 7 days a week but 1 day id do only pushups.

      • Hey full body training works just jot with high intensity strength training on the big lifts. You can def build a lot of muscle with it. I personally don't do it because I also train (and compete) for strength so I need to do heavy ass squats and deadlifts. And I'm strong enough, especially now that I'm juiced, to lift enough weight to leave me totally wrecked the next day. Like Wednesday I did heavy ass deadlifts and if I would have tried to work out at all on Thursdays I would most certainly strain my back or faint or vomit or something there's just no way.

        • Ive had sessions like that before at my friends house. I worked out so much I was sore for a week straight and I was already in shape. It was painful to even move. It was terrible. If a little girl tried to fight me she would have been able to beat my ass. I was useless.

          • Haha Its a weird feeling. People ask me to help move their desk and I make some lame excuse and then their like "can't you deadlift like a gajillion pounds?" And Its like yeah and I did yesterday so that's the problem!

So then my question would be, when you ran that there full body split, how intense were you training? And roughly how strong were/are you? Even though there is really no way I'd do it myself I still wanna learn about it I do have clients.

            • The most I ever maxed was 315 I did it twice on a smith machine. Thats back when I only did pushups too I just happened to be at a community center and wanted to see what I could max with my brother in law. I would do sets of 80 pushups which seems insane to me now. And anytime I'd get a spare moment I would get down and pump out a set of 80. I would do this randomly all the time, throughout the day, 7 days a week. Sometimes id probably do 15 sets a day of that and other days id do maybe 5 sets and some days maybe 3. I had no real order to my workout so I probably could have gotten stronger if I planned it better.

I just always felt the more sets I do of anything the more effects I get. If I feel the pump in my muscles I get results regardless of heavy lifting or light lifting. I would always try to get that pump and burn.

Im weird tho every few years ill get obsessed with bulking and ill get really big but ill lose it and stop for a while. I'm no expert by any means but I've tried lots of different things. I always felt my body responded best military press with a barbell. If I crank out 3 sets/ 10 reps of 100lbs before work everyday ill bulk up. And ill switch from doing deadlifts with the 100lbs to power cleans and military press all at once. Thats my normal workout these days.

              • Yeah body weight stuff is easier to do more frequently and more volume of than heavy barbells so it kinda figures.

Chasing the pump and doing lots of light weight volume is definitely beneficial for muscle growth however there is a point where strength is paramount. It's just hard to do much muscle damage with that little of resistance at a certain point.

In terms of bulking, yes its very hard. Idk what kind of diet you tried but that is a crucial component of it. It took me a while to get my diet dialed in and when I did, the diet was harder than the training. Cause I always had to eat when I wasn't hungry and eat more than I wanted to. I doubt your metabolism is as fast as mine but still diet is very important.

My next question would be what is the specific look your going for? Prioritize upper body? Chest? Arms? Just the most muscle possible evenly? I have usually gone lower body focused and if you want to gain the most pounds of muscle, military press isn't the way to go. Squat, deadlift, bench and some heavy ass rows and pulldowns. Military press is great but the shoulders are only one small piece of the puzzle.

If you ever wanna bulk again you can hit me up I'm pretty big so that means I know everything.
