I think in today;s world only a mild spanking would be considered permissible---I grew up in 60's and paddling was my parents form of discipline for us boys and if it was something serious we got paddled bare thru high school Yet I had a very happy childhood and always had a close relationship with my parents- getting your bare butt paddled was just the norm then---things have changed alot so today I would not do it or defend it--growing up then we just thought we needed it every so often
