Sometimes when i get up i forget who i am

Okay, so occasionally when I get up, my vision blurs then goes black and i become really drowsy. When I say "when I get up" i mean after sitting or laying down. Now this really weird thing has been happening where i get up and become really drowsy and my vision goes away, but i forget who i am, where i am, what time it is and what i was getting up to do. It lasts for like, 10 seconds and after those 10 seconds i start to remember what i was going to do, where i was etc. (it feels like an epiphany honestly, it's kind of cool) Bit like, i was wondering if it was normal? It usually happens after i decide to stop reading a book/ watching show that i was pretty in to. Also, whenever i look back at what happens, in the 10 seconds i never remember what i was thinking about, or if i even was thinking. (Its impossible to stop thinking but, idk i guess i completely forget)

Is It Normal?

  • I get this but it is usually when I am disrupted or wake when I am sleeping. I forget whats going on and I start to panic and run around. I usually turn everything in my room or in the house on. I search around in the panic trying to figure out whats going on and forget who I am for awhile. This sort of thing is said to happen when your rem sleep physical is disrupted. However you are not actually asleep you just get up and down. So I am not sure if this is the same for you.

  • I think that's low blood pressure or malnutrition. Probably ask your doctor?

  • Sounds like low blood pressure, but I don't know how you can continue standing when that happens. I get dizzy and sit back down long before there are serious issues. Taking a deep breath just before standing seems to help get enough oxygen to my brain so that doesn't happen. Could be other things if not that. It doesn't sound good.
