Sometimes i confuse dreams with reality

I have extremely lucid dreams about people and places that I know and sometimes I get confused about what actually happened. Like last month I dreamt that my best friend ate a cockroach and it was so realistic that I asked her about it a couple weeks later because I'd forgotten that it hadn't actually happened. Am I messed up?

Is It Normal?

  • It happens to me constantly. I'll be telling a story and all of a sudden I feel silly bc I realize it never happened. It was a dream, or sometime a situation I was told about previously. What sucks is the only thing I can remember now are dreams. My bf will mention smthng that happend yesterday and I have no recolection. We would fight, then I got paranoid for a year thinking he was Intentionally trying to make think I was crazy. Well now I just pretend I remember. I actually black out parts of the days. It only bothers me when I do smthng rash. Like smash windows. If u r very concerned see I doc. If u don't trust them don't bother.

  • This is normal. Every once in a while i'm in school and a certain situation happens and i immediately feel as if this has happened before (deja vu) and then i realize that this couldnt have happened because sometimes the situation is soooo specific, and thats because i've dreamed about it
like once i was in class watching a movie about 12h night by william Shakespeare looking at my book and then had a sudden surge of deja vu, but i realize that i've never read 12th night before nor seen this movie in my life, so it mustve been a dream i had but forgotten about

  • That's neat. My dreams are never vivid, or clear. I can't really think in them, I just feel emotion. I sort of wish I could be a lucid dreamer but my dreaming is not a problem at all really though.

  • Thats just having a cool mind, how could that possibly be messed up?

But lucid is when you're aware you are dreaming. I think you mean to say 'vivid'.
