I usually just pick it up and put it back. If it was a bottle of liquid that fell I'll place a Wet Floor sign there and I'll just tell an employee that there's a spill. I've seen way too many people purposely walk and slip on fresh spills they see at stores, so preventing their stupidity saves time on everyone's part.
I remember one day at work some bitch said she slipped on a spill and said I saw her, and I didn't. Then she said she didn't want to tell anyone she slipped because she was humiliated.
(She didn't slip she was just trying to get a lawsuit)
