I am not sure if it is still the practice but the Dutch custom for birthdays & mother's day & father's day is the reverse of American custom.
celebrates her children, Father's day the same.
Each child on their birthday does something special for their mother and father. On Mother's Day the mother
You could adopt a similar custom. On your birthday you could phone the people who have been meaningful and loving to you in your life and give thanks to them for being apart of the times in your life that you now treasure the most.
So tomorrow is my birthday. Nobody seems to give a fuck.
