Once she reaches the age of consent, legally the OP can have sex with her 24/7 if they want. I can't see how having a non-sexual relationship with her now is grooming her for later - when the later is when it is legal.

I think your views on "grooming" are a little extreme, but, as usual, you are entitled to them.
If a grown man meets a 14 year old child and keeps in touch with her for two years with the intention of havibg sex with her i think thats different from teaching your children about sex.
