Smothering mother

I have three daughters, ages 6, 5, and 3. I think my two youngest are obsessed with me in a UNnormal way. They follow me everywhere, even in the bathroom. If i sit on the couch, they ALL lay on me, sit on me, get on the back of the couch to lay their heads on mine, grab my face and just get up in my face. They CONSTANTLY are within 1 inch of me. At night they get out of bed and come lay with me. I FEEL SMOTHERED TO DEAAATH!!! I love that they love me but I dont know if this is normal or not!?
I know its normal for a kid to somewhat idolize one parent but to littlerly hang on your back and be like white on rice..... seems a little much!!

Normal. They are probably coming to you because you are not going to them for affection. Try turning this around, so that they feel the love is being reciprocated and they should "calm down".

They love you!!!!! Quit being stupid. That's part of being a mother! Enjoy it while they're young bc they're gonna hate u in a couple years when they're trying to get a tongue ring or something crazy and u won't let them....totally normal for u to feel that way too

Yes and no. Young animals like water fowl, have a tendency to follow their mothers, but this is only done until they are of a certain age.

Are your children scared of being alone? If they are you should ask them why this is. It could be that they have attachment issues or don't know good boundaries. Again, you should find out why this is. Perhaps, they have issues of boredom and find you to be an subject. Try to find ways to occupy them.

Yes, sometimes kids are like that. Especially girls in our family. They will eventually grow out of it, but it will be awhile. enjoy it while you can. The opposite is much worse.

Normal but they also need to respect your personal space too. So say for example you want to sit on the couch alone, you tell them " this is mommys alone time, in ten minutes we can cuddle" then in ten invite them to snuggle and make it fun, welcome them, snuggle etc. They need to give you some space, reward them for doing that and they will be more inclined to give it to you when you ask. Same with bathroom breaks etc. Yes they love you yes they want all of you all the time, and that can get to be a bit much sometimes. You need some space too and there is nothing wrong with that. It doesn't make you a bad mom at all! Outline boundaries, reward them for listening. It seems to me it's a bit of a game for them, the more you try and get away, the more they want you? As far as sleeping in your bed, try a slumber party night perhaps on Fridays if they have stayed in their beds all week, you can have a slumber party with them as a reward?! Good luck :)

I agree. Make rules and stick with them. Give them enough love, but let the know the boundaries.

It won't always be that way. Take pictures. You'll miss them someday.

It's totally normal! Your kids are just close to you because they are scared. But I don't know that for sure so don't hold it against me! Good luck

Normal, I don't have kids but my sis and I live together and my 3 yr niece does the same thing! Always wants to be on top of me, follows me every where, even to the bathroom and to throw the trash, I mean every where!
