I'm a single mom, have been seeing black men over the last year since my divorce. I've been chatting with some guys in other countries, and once the covid travel restrictions are lifted, would like to explore a relationship. I know I should be careful, am I way out of line?
I think single mothers (and fathers) have the right to have fun and enjoy life as long as their kid(s) remain their first priority. There are lots of things I'd like to do that became impossible the moment my daughter arrived, but that's just one of the prices you pay for becoming a parent.
However, if you believe even half of what guys you're "dating" online say, then you're so dumb that I really feel for your kid(s). And if you're so stupid that you'd go off to some foreign country to meet one of those guys on his home turf based on nothing more than what they've said online, then I question whether you're fit to be in charge of a child.
How old are your kids? If they are still young and living at home with you then how are you realistically going to pursue a meaningful relationship with someone who lives in another country without massively impacting your children?

I mean you should probably find someone closer to your area. Try tinder or Bumble. Always meet in public places and preferably have video calls before you visit them. I'm telling this as a man, who knows how many predators are out there.
If you really going to visit your potential partner in a foreign country, always have enough money to book even the most expensive room in the city, cause others might be full and you don't want to sleep in the streets in case he will be off.
