On the thing about a woman's image, I partially disagree. Most guys I've talked to don't like skinny girls. Some like big girls, some like girls with small boobs, some like tan girls, etc. It only seems like "society" wants women like [insert standard here] because the media picks out those kinds of women.
There is a difference between the people in society and those that control it. The average person can advocate for one thing while those in power make the opposite happen.
People just grow complacent and don't try changing it. (In general, not just with beauty, not that I think beauty is a huge issue either. Does it really matter what people like?)
