Well, lots of websites have the option to block certain members, but so far, I haven't noticed one on here.
Do you think it would be a good idea to be able to block certain members from commenting on your posts/comments?

I don't think I would block people just for disagreeing with me even if they flamed.
But the people that just post the same nonsense over and over I would love to be able to ignore.
That would allow censorship and defeats the purpose of this site.
I can already see a post "does god exist?" with an OP blocking everyone who disagrees.
The option already exists if you have Gold. I prefer that system but only for the PMs and if you ever change your mind you can "unblock" the user. I don't think it wise nor very mature to have this option implemented in the regular comments section. It is too ripe for being abused. Then the site will become Draconian. Almost like living under a dictatorship or communism. (Not that I'm against these type of governments. But with all types of government systems there's the high chance of the system getting abused and becoming corrupt.)
I wish that would have been an option when Ne'er-cunt-well was here. OMFG I hate him. Also the one who verbally attacked me for verbally attacking an evil person. You can have opinions but you don't fucking need to shove it down my throat.
No. I get the feeling some users would abuse that right/use it without proper justification.
I don't think it would be a good idea to be allowed to block certain people from commenting on your posts (they could just make a secondary account to get around it), but I think it would be nice to be able to make certain people's stories invisible on my homepage. I wouldn't use that feature myself but I think it would be quite popular. Although that might infringe on anonymity because you'd be able to deduce who the OP was if you logged out and saw the blocked stories.
No. People are just sharing their opinions in a civil way (if not, that's what the "report" button is for), and if you can't handle it then go to a different site, like yahoo answers.
This site is perfect the way it is right now. If they changed it I guarantee a bunch of users would not be as loyal to coming here as often.
Only if the user is engaged in an activity deemed to be illegal, such as the annoying little worm who consistently plagiarizes my user name and work, or the no-minded idiot who deliberately and consistently is attempting to commit an illegal act of 'defamation of character'.
