I think physical health should be the main subject in school period. 1 hour a day isn't enough and there are too many lazy parents parents to count on them taking care of it. I'm not saying we should train the children to be Olympic athletes but to have a good physical health. A fairly strict diet could be implemented to; kids could at least have breakfast and lunch in school plus healthy snacks.
It would be for their own good and I think it would help society a lot.
This is coming from an obese 32 year old who wishes I would have learned good habits that way.
Agree.
Also, schools should only offer healthy options for lunches - I know alot of revenue is generated from fries and greasy food that students purchase, but it will cost our healthcare system (well in Canada anyway)in the long run (it's all gov't money baby... your money).
If some students are to embarassed to participate in gym class they should be credited for alternative physical activity - riding their bike to school or whatever.
Should there be mandated Physical Education in K-12?
